A MAN was granted bail in Magistrate’s Court yesterday for allegedly assaulting his wife.
Dion Smith, 48, stood before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain on a charge of assault.
On May 22 in New Providence, Smith is accused of poking his wife Lashanda Smith several times across the face during an argument resulting in injury. He is further alleged to have pushed her to the floor.
In court, Smith pleaded not guilty to the charge.
As such, he was granted bail at the sum of $2,000 with one or two sureties.
Smith’s trial in the matter was adjourned until September 2.
