A MAN faced two counts of endangering life and a charge of causing grievous harm to a woman in Magistrate’s Court last week.
Michael Defrand, 27, appeared before Senior Magistrate Samuel McKinney on charges of grievous harm and two counts for possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
On May 27 in New Providence, the defendant is accused of endangering the lives of Margaret and John Belizer with a handgun and on that same day causing grievous harm to Mrs Belizer.
Defrand was not required to enter a plea at this time and was informed his case would proceed by way of Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).
The magistrate also told the accused his case would proceed before the Supreme Court, where he can officially make his plea and apply for bail.
Until bail it is granted, Defrand will be remanded back to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services. He will return to court on September 12 for service of his VBI.
