CONCACAF Nations League: Senior men’s national soccer team loses 3rd straight match

THE Bahamas senior men’s national soccer team lost its third consecutive match in CONCACAF Nation’s League play.

The team suffered a 4-0 loss last night on the road against Nicaragua in the second game of a home and away series between the two at the National Football Stadium in Managua, Nicaragua.

The home team got a pair of goals from Jaime Moreno (34’ and 45’), and penalties from both Juan Barrera (19’) and Ariagner Smith (74’).

The Bahamas went scoreless for the third consecutive game and fell to 1-3 (three points) in the Group C standings.

Nicaragua improved to 3-0-1 and leads the group with 10 points.

Trinidad and Tobago is second at 3-1 (nine points) while St Vincent and the Grenadines remains winless at 0-3-1 (one point).

After a 1-0 win over St Vincent and the Grenadines at home The Bahamas suffered a 1-0 loss to Trinidad and Tobago and a 2-0 loss to Nicaragua in the first matchup between the two teams.

The winner of the group is promoted to League A and qualifies for the CONCACAF Gold Cup. The runner-up goes to the Gold Cup preliminary round.
