Bahamas set for Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships

GO TEAM BAHAMAS: The Bahamas Golf Federation’s 10-member team consists of three girls and seven boys expected to represent all of the divisions in the upcoming Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships June 28-30 in Puerto Rico.

GO TEAM BAHAMAS: The Bahamas Golf Federation’s 10-member team consists of three girls and seven boys expected to represent all of the divisions in the upcoming Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships June 28-30 in Puerto Rico.

THE Bahamas Golf Federation (BGF) confirms its participation in the upcoming Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships (CAJGC) scheduled for June 28-30 in Puerto Rico.

The 10-member team consists of three girls and seven boys representing all of the divisions. They are scheduled to travel to Puerto Rico on Sunday, June 26. In addition, there will be a team manager, two team coaches, one team assistant, and 10 parents making up this delegation to Puerto Rico.

Girls 18U - Tyesha Tynes

Boys 13U - Aidan Gorospe,

Kerrington Rolle

Boys 15U - Jackson Mactaggart,

Camdyn Forbes, Rhan Miller

Boys 18U - Heathcliffe Kane,

Alexander Dupuch

The team manager is Gina Gonzalez-Rolle and the head coach is Lemon Gorospe, assisted by Georgette Rolle-Harris and Frederick Taylor.

In 2021, the team placed 4th in the overall competition.

The team feels that they are stronger than the previous year, which was only behind 3rd by a few points in 2021.

The first of three rounds of championship golf will begin on Tuesday, June 28 and each division will play 18 holes of golf during each day of the championship event.

COVID-19 protocols are in place and the team manager and coach will ensure they are adhered to by all persons travelling with the team.

The national team is all set to return home on Friday, July 1.
