A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was sent to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services after escaping Simpson Penn School for Boys and threatening a man with a gun.
He was yesterday represented by Attorney Nicholas Mitchell and appeared before Magistrate Kara Turnquest-Deveaux on one count of escape and another count of assault with a deadly weapon.
On June 11 the accused escaped remand from Simpson Penn for an earlier offence and then later on June 20 he is accused of assaulting Albert Johnson with a firearm.
While the accused pleaded guilty to the escape charge, he pleaded not guilty to assault.
He was denied bail and was remanded to Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until further notice.
The juvenile is expected to return to court for the continuation of the hearing of both charges on September 14.
