THE Diocese of The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands has started its Anglican Lenten Mission.
The event began on Sunday and will continue unti Wednesday under the theme “The Open Door to The Eternal Banquet – Baptism and Holy Communion in our Daily Lives”.
The Missioner is the Rt Rev Laish Boyd, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese, and the venue is the St John’s College Auditorium at 6.45pm each night.
Yesterday, the mission began with the topic of “God opens the door”, along with singing and preaching.
Tonight, the event continues with the topic “Living for Jesus”, before tomorrow the topic is “Growing in the Spirit”. The final night, Wednesday, has the topic “The Eternal Banquet”.
A statement from the diocese said: “The mission will focus on God’s call to us through Baptism to be one with Him, and God’s desire to journey with us every day of our lives. In these challenging times our only sure anchor is God. We all need to hear His call in the circumstances of daily life and to walk with Him through all the changing scenes of life.
“One and all are welcome to come out and share in worship services. Everyone can be comfortable and at ease because St John’s College Auditorium is a large and well-ventilated space, and COVID-19 protocols will be strictly enforced.”
The services will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube. For more information, visit the diocesan website at bahtcianglican.org.
The Anglican Diocese calls on all Anglicans and on the wider community to pray for this event.
