TWO MEN were arraigned in a Magistrate’s Court yesterday allegedly in connection with a string of attempted murders in New Providence.
Shaquille Monroe, 29, and Raequan Alexis, 18, stood before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on three separate counts of attempted murder and a charge of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
On April 3 in New Providence the accused were alleged to have threatened and attempted to kill Kyuano Telfort and Kevin Mezidieu with a black handgun. Also, on March 30 both men allegedly attempted to murder Rashad Sullivan and Robert Delancy.
Due to the serious nature of the offences neither suspect was required to enter a plea in court. Monroe and Alexis were also informed that their cases would proceed by way of Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI) to be served at a later date.
The Chief Magistrate denied the accused bail resulting in their return on remand to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
The accused’s trial is expected to start on November 30.
