TWO MEN were remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services yesterday on separate murder charges.
Roger Wallace, 29, stood before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt on two separate counts of murder in New Providence.
It was alleged that Wallace murdered Navarda Nairn on August 17, 2021 as well as Antone Brown on September 26 of the same year.
Due to the grave nature of the offence the accused was not required to enter a plea in court and was informed that his case would proceed by way of Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).
The Chief Magistrate then told Wallace that he was denied bail and that he would be remanded to The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDCS).
The accused’s next court appearance is set for November 30.
The other man, Shaquille Monroe, 29, also appeared before Chief Magistrate Ferguson-Pratt on a count of murder.
On March 12 it is alleged that Monroe murdered Kenny Rigaud in New Providence.
He was also not required to enter a plea and his case will also proceed by way of a VBI. The Magistrate denied him bail and ordered that he be remanded back to BDCS.
Monroe’s next appearance to answer to the murder charge is expected on December 1.
