AHMARD Harvey was the latest Bahamian collegiate basketball prospect to land with a new programme following his time in the NCAA transfer portal.

Harvey recently announced his commitment to join the High Point Panthers of the Big South Conference for the upcoming Fall 2022 campaign.

The 67’ wing joins a programme led by G.G. Smith and finished 14-18 last season, 7-9 in the Big South.

The Grand Bahama native transferred from the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers of the Sun Belt Conference, where he spent the previous three seasons of his collegiate basketball career. His tenure with the Chanticleers was marked by inconsistent playing time and a lack of opportunities on the floor

As a true freshman, Harvey played sparing and made 17 appearances at just over six minuter per game. He scored a season-high seven points in a road win at Delaware State.

As a sophomore he made 21 appearances and scored in double figures twice - 10 points against Greensboro and again against Troy. He averaged 2.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game on 55 percent shooting from the field.

As a junior last season, he played in just seven games and had the opportunity to play at home when the Chanticleers were a participant in the Nassau Championship of the inaugural Baha Mar Hoops. Off the court, he made the 2021 Fall Dean’s least

Prior to Coastal Carolina, Harvey completed his high school career with the Aspire Basketball Academy Wizards in Louisville, Kentucky.

As a senior, he averaged 13.7 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game.
