THE Nassau Rowing Club and the Windsor High School Rowing team have teamed up to stage the inaugural Lake Cunningham Classic on Lake Cunningham on Saturday.
The Lake Cunningham Classic is a dual regatta, showcasing the best oarsmen and oarswomen from both programmes, giving them a chance to test their skills against each other in the highest calibre of rowing competition in The Bahamas.
Rowers will race in junior women’s and men’s single sculls, double sculls, coxed fours and quadruple sculls, demonstrating skill in both sculling and sweep rowing.
Racing is scheduled to begin at 8am sharp and can be viewed from the shoulder of the southern shore of Lake Cunningham, closest to the roundabout connecting Baha Mar Boulevard, Gladstone Road and John F Kennedy Drive.
Racing will be run from west to east such that the final sprint, and most exciting part of the race, will be right in front of this spectator area.
Members, parents, and supporters will be located there and there will be adequate parking and signage to facilitate you identifying the best place to observe the racing.
