A MAN was yesterday remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services after facing an armed robbery charge in a Magistrate’s Court yesterday.
Antion Gibson, 23, appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans charged with armed robbery and receiving.
On May 21 in New Providence while armed with a handgun Gibson is alleged to have robbed Mario Stubbs of his $2,000 black Sym motorcycle.
Because of the serious nature of the offence the accused was not required to enter a plea at that time.
He was told that his case would proceed by way of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).
Magistrate Vogt-Evans also informed Gibson that his matter would be heard in the Supreme Court. There Gibson can officially make his plea and also apply for bail.
Until such time that it is granted to him the accused will be sent back to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
Gibson will return to the Magistrate’s Court on July 21 for service of his VBI.
