A MAN accused of murder was placed on probation yesterday after admitting to violating the conditions of his Supreme Court bail.

Terry Sweeting, 25, stood before Magistrate Samuel McKinney on a charge of violation of bail conditions. The bail was granted by the Supreme Court in connection with his ongoing trial for the alleged murder of Leslie Rolle on February 25, 2017.

Between July 21 and August 17, Sweeting failed to charge the electronic monitoring device that the Supreme Court had ordered him to wear.

In court, the accused pleaded guilty to the charge.

After hearing mitigation from the accused, Magistrate McKinney put Sweeting on probation for 18 months.

If he breaches his probation, he will face a six-month sentence at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
