A MAN was sent to prison after being accused of a botched murder bid earlier this summer.
Magistrate Algernon Allen, Jr, charged Kenneth Cummings, 33, with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to put another in fear.
Cummings is accused of threatening Klee Alonz with a black handgun on July 3.
Cummings allegedly shot and injured Deshawn Hart on July 29 in New Providence.
After pleading not guilty to the firearm charge, the accused was informed that his attempted murder charge would be transferred to the Supreme Court by voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
While Cummings was granted $9,000 bail for the firearm charge, he must apply to a higher court for bail for the second charge. Once released, the accused must sign in at Carmichael Station every Wednesday by 6pm and will be fitted with a monitoring device.
Cummings' firearm trial begins on September 15, and his VBI is expected to be served on December 7.
