EDITOR, The Tribune.
Attorney Jeanne Thompson answered Minister Mitchell very well. Ms Thompson you may have to give knitting lesson though!
Editor, 65-70 even 75 plus is young these days as long as you enjoy normal mental health.
President Mandela was elected President of South Africa at 75years. Winston Churchill took the helm of Britain at the beginning of WWII at the age of 73-74 and served throughout as Prime Minister.
President Reagan was over 75… President Biden is also.
Our popular song... “Age is but a number” is I believe the correct and ‘polite’ understanding we need to adopt unless Parliament wishes to put an age limit on nembers of 65 years when public servants are required to retire. I understand the good Minister is now 70.
Truly looking forward to retirement as a blessing not a hinderance or encumbrance or burden on anyone.

That's true and all but is this same logic reciprocated the other way. You don't have to be a Pindling era Politicians/Civil Servant to be capable to enlist in government and pass good policy. Consequentially, we seem to have folks who want to pass Pindling era policy in the 21st century, hence we see stagnation and lack of new/original ideas in government.
