A TEENAGE boy was charged in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest while at the court complex earlier this month.
The 17-year-old went before Magistrate Kara Turnquest Deveaux in the presence of his guardians.
There he faced charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and using obscene language.
On January 16 at the court complex on Nassau Street, it is alleged that the juvenile assaulted Sergeant 2975 McDonald and resisted arrest.
He is also accused of cursing the arresting officer.
While the accused pleaded not guilty to the assault and resisting arrest charges, he pleaded guilty to using obscene language.
Bail was granted to the teen at $1,500 with one or two sureties. He is to return to court on March 1 for a probation report.
