A MAN was granted $5,000 bail in court yesterday after being accused of stabbing another man in the back last December.
Demarcus McIntosh, 27, faced Magistrate Shaka Serville on a charge of causing harm.
It is alleged that during a physical argument with Dudley Smith around 10.30pm on December 11, 2022 on Graham Drive, the accused stabbed Smith in the lower left side of his back with a knife.
In court, McIntosh pleaded not guilty to the charge. As the prosecution did not object, $5,000 bail was granted with one or two sureties. Under the conditions of the bail McIntosh was warned not to have any contact with the complainant or witnesses on this matter. The accused is also required to sign in at the Grove Police Station every Friday by 6pm.
McIntosh’s trial is set for February 21.
