Freeport and prison system

EDITOR, The Tribune.

There is a serious complaint about prisoners being transported to Freeport in order to attend court in a timely manner.

All the years that this situation existed, by now the government and Grand Bahama Port Authority should have come to an amicable agreement to set aside a 10 acre parcel of land and build a small Correction centre to house prisoners who are sentenced to prison rather than the continued problem of transporting between Nassau and Freeport.

This would be cheaper and safer. It is my firm belief that if this idea would be given serious consideration everybody would be happier, the prisoners family would be able to visit them on a timely basis.
