The search is continuing for a 66-year-old American man whose plane reportedly crashed east of the Exuma Cays on Friday.
The man's aircraft, a P32R Saratoga, registered N-9253M, lost contact with air traffic control after encountering bad weather.
Police have not yet named the pilot. The flight took off from Palm Beach airport shortly before 9am, and was en route to Stella Maris, Long Island.
Officers from the marine units of both the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and the police, along with the US Coast Guard and private citizens, have been conducting search and rescue efforts in the area.
An oil slick was discovered in the area where the plane reportedly crashed, but neither the plane nor the pilot have been located.
