A 50-year-old man was sent to prison yesterday after he allegedly attempted to solicit a 14-year-old girl for sex and had nude videos of her on his phone.
Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain charged Joseph Rolle with indecent assault, procuration, and three counts of child pornography.
Rolle allegedly inappropriately touched the underage girl and attempted to solicit unlawful sexual intercourse with her in New Providence on October 15. On the same day, Rolle is further accused of having nude videos of the same minor on his phone, which he allegedly disseminated over the internet.
Rolle was not required to enter a plea and his matter was transferred to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI). He will be sent to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services unless the higher court grants him bail.
His VBI is scheduled for service on January 22, 2024.
