TRANSPORT and Energy Minister JoBeth Coleby-Davis said her ministry is “building a strong team of collaboration” with the police department to tackle fraudulent licence discs.
She said authorities are closing “gaps and loopholes” that allowed fraud.
“Internally, we’ve also changed some of our process and management of assets,” she told reporters.
“We don’t want to give too much detail because we don’t want people to change up their approach, but we are working closely with the police to address these matters.”
She indicated officials are working on system changes and updating their security internally in the system.
Last month, police arrested two people, a man and a woman, who were found with fraudulent licence disc equipment at their residence. That happened after police arrested two men, ages 40 and 48, believed to be involved in a fraudulent licence disc network.
