FAMILY and friends of the late legendary Bahamian boxer Ray Minus Jr will hold a Ray Minus Jr Day on Saturday.
The event will kick off at 10am with a wreath laying at Minus Jr’s photo at the Walk of Fame on the outside of the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium.
Then, starting at 6pm at the National Boxing Gymnasium at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex, the inaugural Ray Minus Jr Boxing Show will take place. Tickets are priced at $20.

Minus Jr, at the age of 58, died on April 27, 2023 from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS),
He won the Bahamas lightweight title, Bahamas light welterweight title, World Boxing Council (WBC) Continental Americas bantamweight title, World Boxing Association (WBA) Inter-Continental super bantamweight title, and Commonwealth bantamweight title.
In his 37-9-1 win-loss-draw record, he challenged for the WBC Continental Americas super bantamweight title, WBC Continental Americas lightweight title, WBO bantamweight title, and the International Boxing Federation (IBF) bantamweight title.
