A MAN was remanded in custody yesterday after he was accused of killing Angelo Weech in South Beach earlier this month.
Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley arraigned Wendriko Kerr, 24, on murder.
Kerr allegedly shot and killed Weech as the two were walking on a dirt road off Holiday Drive leading to the South Beach canals at 2.30pm on August 10.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they found the lifeless body of the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Weech was described by police as being of medium brown complexion and black low cut hair. At the time of his death, he was wearing a white undershirt, dark long jeans and black and white tennis shoes.
Kerr was informed his matter would be transferred to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).
The defendant will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until his VBI is served on January 30, 2025.
Donna Major represented the accused.
