The Royal Bahamas Police Force will host its Annual Beat Retreat in Rawson Square on Sunday, December 15, 2024, starting at 4pm. To accommodate the event, several road closures and traffic diversions will be in place.
Road Closures:
From 2pm until the event concludes, the following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:
Bay Street (Frederick Street to East Street)
Charlotte Street (Shirley Street to Woodes Rodgers Wharf)
Parliament Street (Woodes Rodgers Wharf to Shirley Street)
Bank Lane (Shirley Street to Bay Street)
East Street (Shirley Street to Bay Street)
Traffic Diversions:
Eastbound traffic on Bay Street will be redirected north to Woodes Rodgers Wharf, south on East Street, and back east on Bay Street.
Northbound traffic on East Street will be diverted west onto Shirley Street.
No vehicles will be allowed eastbound on Bay Street from Frederick Street.
No Parking Restrictions:
From 1am Sunday until the event concludes, parking will be prohibited on:
Bay Street (Charlotte Street to East Street – both sides)
Parliament Street (Woodes Rodgers Wharf to Shirley Street – both sides)
Bank Lane (Shirley Street to Bay Street – both sides)
East Street (Shirley Street to Bay Street – both sides)
In a statement, the RBPF apologized for any inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their cooperation.
