A 19-year-old was placed on one year’s probation yesterday after he admitted to breaking into a house in Cat Island last week and stealing $100.
Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley charged Mario Tyler, 19, with housebreaking and stealing from a dwelling house.
Tyler is accused of breaking into the residence of Bridgette Weinstein on Cutlass Bay, Cat Island, and stealing $100 in cash at around 3pm on January 30.
After pleading guilty to the offence, Tyler was placed on one year’s probation and ordered to fully reimburse the complainant. Defaulting on these conditions would carry a four-month prison term.
