Police in Grand Bahama arrested a 25-year-old man after he was found on a vessel containing ammunition and nearly 40 pounds of suspected marijuana yesterday.
According to reports, the Marine Support Unit in Grand Bahama were patrolling in waters near Shoreline Subdivision on Thursday, when the officers observed a man onboard a white vessel.
“As they approached, the male attempted to flee, resulting in a chase,” the police statement read.
“During the pursuit, the male discarded objects into the ocean before being caught.”
Police reportedly searched the vessel and found an undisclosed amount of ammunition and a large quantity of suspected marijuana.
The estimated weight of the suspected marijuana is 39.5 pounds and its estimated street value is $59,250, police said.
