New US Chargé d’Affaires introduced at US Embassy opening ceremony

THE US Embassy in Nassau celebrated the 248th Independence Day anniversary of the United States on Friday with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony that also marked the opening of its new embassy compound on Shirley Street.

The event also saw the official introduction of the new US chargé d’affaires, Kimberly Furnish, who replaces Usha Pitts.

She said: “As I look at this new US Embassy, I see many things. I see the next 50 years of friendship. I see a physical symbol of the United States. I see investment in The Bahamas. I see a partnership more than worthy of celebrating tonight. I see our shared future.”

For his part, Prime Minister Philip “Brave” Davis welcomed Ms Furnish and spoke about the close friendship between the United States and The Bahamas.

He said the new embassy was a symbol of “our enduring friendship” and said it represented their commitment to strengthen bilateral ties.

He said: “As we reflect on tonight’s theme, ‘Our Shared Future,’  I am reminded of the countless ways our nations have supported each other over the years. Whether in the aftermath of our deepest tragedies or through collaborative efforts to protect our borders, the United States has always been a steadfast ally to The Bahamas.”

“When hurricanes ravaged our islands, leaving destruction and despair in their wake, the United States was there, providing vital aid, resources, and support.  I can’t help but think of the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, ‘The only way to have a friend is to be one.’ The US has been a true friend to The Bahamas.”

“Moving forward, we will undoubtedly continue to maintain close ties – and not just diplomatic ties but social, cultural, and economic ties as well.”

Officials broke ground on the 90,000 sq ft compound in October 2019, with more than $300m budgeted for the project.”

Here at forever risk of getting a US visitor visa rejected. -- What's with the sleeveless (red) dress with no underarm strap to prevent boobs peekaboo issues. -- Yes?

A ridiculously expensive new embassy building and a floozy rather than an ambassador appointed to oversee it. Yup, it certainly seems US taxpayers are getting the royal shaft on all fronts these days. And no doubt our slimy Freddy Boy Mitchell has told PM Davis that the ministry of foreign affairs is in desperate need of a similarly opulent new Bahamas embassy in Washington DC even if it means increasing our national debt by $300+ million.

It leaves one to wonder why USA will invest $318 million in an embassy compound in a tiny Third World country like The Bahamas ........ And they won't post an Ambassador here for almost 20 years.

Something is either amiss or afoot.

@ComradeSheepRunner, It reverts back to the drug trafficking period, - A Nation For Sale corruption in the Colony. - An ongoing conflict between the US State Department and the US Department of Justice. -- An excellent go-to reference source might just be our Comrade C. Allen Johnson. -- Yes?

Brave is just another bought and paid for puppet leader for the Americans and their allies!

Corrupt stumpy Davis and slimy Freddy Boy Mitchell are well known to joke about how easy it has become for the Bahamas government to pit the national security interests of the US government against the increasingly aggressive interests of the ChiComs in order to get "goodies" from both of these super power nations as they compete for very high stakes on the world stage.

So far the ChiComs seem to have the upper hand in our nation thanks to their willingness to line the pockets of the elitist hierarchy of the PLP. And the ChiComs have had great success in persuading many Bahamians, especially younger Bahamians, that the US government has for decades been and remains a most sinister and evil actor on the world stage. The losers in all of this are of course the struggling Bahamian people who soon may be without reliable supplies of affordable electricity, potable water, and so on. Oh well, what can you say.

Hitler killed 2 million white people and is labeled the worse human in history. Leopold, America and its allies murdered tens of millions of Africans and everybody is just fine with it!

China is 100% correct! The situation in Gaza proves the United States and its allies ARE the most sinister and evil actors on the world stage!

Democracy, values, and human rights my red ass!

Communist (Red) China is well known for its human rights violations committed against Uyghurs, Kazakhs and other predominantly Muslim ethnic minorities in its regional sphere of influence. And let's not forget their abusive treatment of Tibetans, blacks in Africa and elsewhere, and anyone who openly admits they are a member of the LGBTQ club.

Before we talk about the splinter in the Chinese eye, we must remember the forest in America's eye. They are the self proclaimed "global peace keepers" that have run around the entire world murdering people, destroying countries and stealing resources at less than a whim!

America and it's NATO group of pirates are unquestionably, without any doubt, THE biggest terrorist organization the world has ever had seen.

Like the new Charge D’Affaires come here to party. Her outfit is inappropriate, undiplomatic, and an affront to the pride of our nation. Or, perhaps, she was just displaying her costume for the LGTBQ Festivals she attended and planned to attend.

Yup, the US government has imposed on us a bonafide floozy. She's probably fitting retribution for successive PLP governments having imposed slimy Freddy Boy Mitchell on the US Department of State for so many years.

Regardless of Ms.Kimberly Furnish, our new US chargé d’affaires to the Bahamas personal preference or style of dress, I welcome her to the Bahamas, and wish her well in her new post.

We should and could not expect ANYTHING NEW or pivotal from Ms. Furnish.

The facts are she represents the Biden administration, and therefore obviously condones bought and paid for corruption of foreign leaders like PM Davis and Ruto of Kenya, the genocide in Gaza and the invasion of Haiti by Kenyan forces to secure Haiti's 300 billion in gold reserves and vast oil reserves.

As long as Ms. Furnish clearly understands that Bahamians are acutely aware of the hypocrisy of the United States and it’s allies, and DO NOT expect us to respect her for her personal standings, everything will be fine.

The days of kissing Americas unwiped ass are long over. They have forever forfeited any claims to democracy, values, and human rights!

They need to get over it. The rest off the world already has.
