A MAN was gunned down last night in the latest murder to hit The Bahamas.
The victim, who was known to police, was near a residence when he was shot dead.
Assistant Commissioner Roberto Goodman, at the scene last night in the Sequoia Street area, said “it appears that we as a Christian nation have moved far away from God”.
He promised that police have strategies in place as the country leads up towards Christmas.
Chief Superintendent Christopher Minus, officer in charge of East Street South, said that at about 8.35pm, the police control room received reports of gunshots being discharged.
He said: “Units attended and discovered the lifeless body of a male in the area of a residence.”
The victim was aged between 25 and 30 and is known to police, but was not on bail.
Chief Supt Minus said a black Kia car was involved in the incident, which left the scene travelling west.
