The British High Commission Nassau hosted the King’s Trust International on its recent visit to The Bahamas.
Governor General Dame Cynthia Pratt extended her patronage. At the conference, figures including Prime Minister Phillip “Brave” Davis; the Governor General; Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Mario Bowleg; alongside Will Straw and British High Commissioner Thomas Hartley addressed the gathering.
In addition to the conference, the British High Commission co-hosted a celebratory dinner alongside designer and philanthropist India Hicks. The evening brought together guests, including Mr Davis and his wife, Ann-Marie, and served as a platform to highlight The King’s Trust International’s commitment to supporting young people.
Bahamian chef Niki Lightbourne prepared three wonderful courses using local ingredients. Exquisite linens donated by Pomegranate Inc set the tone for the evening’s decor, while Idle Spirits contributed its finest rum, while a dedicated hospitality team crafted a one-of-a-kind cocktail, the ‘King’s Treat.’
Bahamian artist Antonius Roberts also donated artwork to the British High Commission.
The evening secured funding for the long-term development and support of youth programmes both locally and worldwide.
Mr Hartley said: “The visit of The King’s Trust International has been an extraordinary moment for partnership and progress. The generosity and passion shown by all involved, from community leaders to artists, speaks volumes about our shared commitment to investing in the next generation. It has been a privilege to be part of such a meaningful initiative and I’m very grateful to my co-host India Hicks for helping create such an incredible event.”
