A 30-year-old man was remanded into custody on Friday after he was accused of sexually assaulting a 29-year-old woman last month.

Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans arraigned Charles Sealy III on Indecent Assault.

Prosecutors allege that the defendant took off the female complainant’s underwear and rubbed her vagina and buttocks on January 30.

Sealy was not required to enter a plea at that time. He was informed that his matter would proceed to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI).

The defendant will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

He was informed of his right to apply for bail through the higher court.

Sealy will return to court for potential service of his VBI on May 21.

Assistant Superintendent of Police S Coakley served as the prosecutor.
