Former Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham today confirmed the death of his daughter, Kelli Ingraham.

Ms Ingraham died at 12.55pm today following a brief illness, according to a statement made on behalf of Mr Ingraham and his wife Delores.

Ms Ingraham was a 1997 graduate of St. Andrew’s International School, and pursued law at the University of Sussex before she was called to The Bahamas Bar in 2005. She was an active member of the legal community, serving on The Bahamas Bar Council and The Bahamas Financial Services Board. Additionally, she chaired the Straw Market Authority from 2017 to 2021.

At the time of her passing, Ms Ingraham practiced at Rt. Hon. Hubert A. Ingraham Chambers.

Further details regarding funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

In a statement today, Prime Minister Philip Davis said he spoke with Mr Ingraham this afternoon to extend his condolences.

"There are no words to fully express the pain of losing a child, and I can only imagine the grief he and his family are experiencing," Mr Davis said.

"Ann and I offer our deepest sympathies and pray that they find strength in the love and support of those around them during this incredibly difficult time.

Mr Davis added: "On behalf of the government and the people of The Bahamas, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Ingraham and his family. May Kelli’s soul rest in peace."
