Funeral service for Josephine Louise Major, affectionately called ‘Fene’, aged 97 of Avocado Street, Pinewood Gardens and formerly of Taits, Long Island, who died on 5th December, 2012, will be held on Saturday, 15th December, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, Madeira Street, and Palmdale. Officiating will be Fr. Anselm Russell, assisted by Deacon Dennis Mackey. Interment follows in Woodlawn Gardens Cemetery, Soldier Road. Precious memories will forever linger on in the hearts of her three (3) children: Merle Rolle, Lincoln and Wendell Major; two (2) daughters-in-law: Beverley Major and Gerri Major of Boston; one (1) grand-daughter: Joan Rolle; two (2) step grand-daughters: Francina and Shurell Brice; three (3) grand-daughters-in-law: Nadia, Cherisse and Allison Major; nine (9) grandsons: Henry, Don, Dowin, Terry, Barry, Jason, Larry, Daron and Dominique Major; great grandchildren: Janiyah, Maddison, Terrica, Aliyah, Anica, Diego, Diamond, C.J. and Jasmine Knowles; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including: John and Viola Major, Erma Deveaux, Lance and Lynn Major, Lambert Major, Lillian Miller, Charles Major, William Major, Burdie Davis, Maxcine Kemp, Mavis Major, Thomas Mortimer, Reggie and Rudolph Adderley, Minerva Finley, Coris Culmer, William Taylor, Myrtis Adderley, Sandra Evans, The Brice Family and The Leadon Family; Special Thanks to: Yvonne Watson and the St. Thomas More Parish, Monique Forbes and the entire Long Island Family. Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at Newbold Brothers Chapel, Palmetto Avenue & Acklins Street, off Market and East Streets on Friday from 10:00 a.m., to 6:00 p.m., Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m., until service time.
