Full Military Funeral Services for the Late Superintendent of Police Oscar Leroy Sands, 57 years of Vendal Drive, Sunset Park and formerly of Little Creek, South Andros, will be held on Friday August 16th, 2013, 10:00am at the New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Blue Hill Road South. Rev. Andrew Stewart assisted by Rev’d. Fr. Stephen Davies and Pastor Dr. Jay Simms will officiate. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Soldier Road.
He leaves behind to mourn; His Wife: Zipporah Sands; Son: Seleniko Christine` Sands; Daughter: Anginiqua Williams; Stepson: Jason Kerr; Grandson: Seleniko Sands Jr.; Brothers: Carl & Joseph Sands; Sisters-in-law: Shandra & Michelle Sands; Sisters: Easie Gauise, Pearlean Brown, Coralee Smith, Pastor Bonnie Richardson, Maybelene Randell and Jenesta Garcia; Brother- in-law: Jeremiah Smith, George Richardson, Josie Garcia, Sacario Leadon, Ervin Fernander, Hartman Beckford and Dave Clarke; Sisters-in-law: Sandra Leadon, Curline Fernander, Syberline Knowles, Eleanor Leadon, Irene Beckford, Miriam Clarke; Uncles: George A Mckinney Sr. & Family, Alexander Burrows & Family, Richard Barr & Family; Grand Uncles: Eddie & Eric Sands; Grand Aunt: Ena Sands; and a host of other relatives including: the Descendants of Alfred, David, Arnold, and Ophelia Burrows, Erma Williams, Beatrice Rolle & George Sands. Friends may pay their last respects at The Paul H. Farquharson Conference Centre (Police Headquarters), East Street on Thursday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
