Joseph Bernard Emmanual Alfred, retired Magistrate and Justice of the Supreme Court, passed away at the home of his son, Mark, in Trinidad, on Friday 7th February, 2014. He was 78 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Boyd Alfred, four sons, Mark (Natasha), Sean (Rosalind), Gavin and Andrew; seven grandchildren, Jason, Gerry, Tammy, Adon, Yannick, Gabrielle and Zoe; one great grandchild, Courtney; two sisters, Prunella Alfred and Emmerell (Albert) Matthew; two brothers: George (Shirley) and Edward (Norman); three sisters-in-law, Angela George (Sylvester), Colleen Boyd and Pauline Evans; and one brother-in-law: Bishop Laish Boyd (Joann).
Justice Alfred was funeralized at All Saints Anglican Church, Marli St., Port of Spain, on Thursday 13th February, 2014. Cremation followed.
A Memorial Service will be held here in Nassau on Thursday 27th, February, 2014, at Christ Church Cathedral, George Street, at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Cancer Society of the Bahamas.
