Funeral Service for John Wilfred Major Sr., age 83, of Roses, Long Island will be held on Saturday, February 01st, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Tait’s, Long Island. Officiating will be Fr. Gregory Lyttle, assisted by Deacon Patrick Darville. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Left to cherish his memories are children: Wilfred, Rosita, Cynthia, Hurbert, Allan, John Jr., Victoria, Rudy, Johnnell and Richard Major; grandchildren: Yvonne, Jermaine, Myrtis, Jessica, Kendrick, Natasha, Desiree, Latecia and Abigail Major, Daniel Dean Jr. and Cassandra Delancy; great grandchildren: Kortney Rolle, Corey and Kobe Waldron, Kody Forbes, Anthony Adderley and Shania Major; sisters: Myrtis King and Ivis Cartwright; nephews: Andrew King, Stephen, Perry, Bruce, Mitchell, Philip, Drexel and Paul Dean, Ivan and Albert Cartwright; nieces: Angela, Gennetta, Colleen and Thelma Dean, Bernadette and Linda Cartwright; sisters-in-law: Geniva and Gena Dean, Delia Roxbury, Dame Ivy Dumont and Cora Cartwright; daughters-in-law: Jane and Camalee Major; other relatives and friends: Grace Dean, Jelva Roxbury and family, Hazel Roxbury and family, Wesley Roxbury, Altheia, Lilly, Ruth Bullard and family, Charles Major, Diana Darville, Inez Major, John Major and family, John Cartwright and family, Ivan Cartwright and family, Paul Carroll and family, Doctor Carter, Nurse Bowe and staff, Father Gregory, Aldrick Stubbs, Kermit Forbes, Cheryl Newman and family, Watson family, Maris Major and family, Hilda Taylor and family, Nelson Dean and family and Enid Major and family and many others too numerous to mention.
