G. PETER CATES, age 72 years, of Buen Retiro, Nassau, Bahamas, who was born in Rock Sound, Eleuthera, died at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida on Easter Monday, April 21, 2014.
Funeral service for Peter will be held at Ebenezer Methodist Church, East Shirley Street, Nassau, Bahamas on Saturday, May 03, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Rev. Godfrey A. Bethell, Minister. Interment immediately following the service in Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Penny; daughters, Tamsin Cates and Beth Armstrong; son-in-law, Seth Armstrong; grandson, Thomas Armstrong; brothers, Clifford Cates, Maitland Cates and John Cates; sisters-in-law, Daphne Cates, Jennifer Cates, Patricia Payne, and Elizabeth Howard; brothers-in-law, David Payne and Derek Howard; nephews, Christopher (Laura) Cates, Douglas (Kelly) Payne, Timothy (Amy) Payne, Andrew Howard, and David Howard; nieces, Marsha Cates, Tiffany Cates, Amanda Ormerod, Joanna Payne, and Robyn (Calvin) Rolle; great nephew, Aragon Cates; great niece, Arianna Cates; aunt, Thelma Knowles; cousins, Juanita Baker, Kermit (Janette) Cates, Gwen Cates, Billy Cates, Terry Cates, Marguerite Curry, Charles (Margaret) Curry, Jean Gyr, Robert Curry, Beverly Roberts, Geraldine Albury, Cathy (Tommy) Albury, Phil (Yvonne) Knowles, Angela (Neville) Walker, Gordon Knowles, Christine (Johnny) Woodman, Anne (Ian) Lever, Elizabeth Howard, Robin Knowles, Other Family Members and a lifetime of dear friends.
There will be a viewing at Pinder's Funeral Home, Palmdale Avenue, Nassau from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, May 02, 2014.
In lieu of flowers, Penny and the family request that donations, in memory of Peter Cates, be made to Ebenezer Methodist Church, P.O. Box S.S. 6145, Nassau, Bahamas, to support the Church’s Soup Kitchen.
