Funeral service for Melvera Virginia Cartwright-Adderley, age 64 years, of Tropical Gardens, formerly of Deadman's Cay, Long Island, who died on Thursday October 1st, 2015 in Kingston, Jamaica, will be held on Saturday October 17, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, Baillou Hill and Wulff Roads. Officiating will be the Right Rev. Gilbert A. Thompson, Canon Basil Tynes and Rev. Fr. Donald Kerr. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, John F. Kennedy Drive.
Predeceased by her parents: Danzell and Marathon Cartwright and her brother: Norris Cartwright.
Left to Cherished her memories are her children: Alveta Knight (Dr. Nigel Knight) of Kingston Jamaica and Zaneta Burton (Gordon Burton) of Providenciales; her grandchildren: I'Andre Adderley, Danzell-Patrick Knight, Zaniel-Patrick Knight, Brianna Virginia Burton and Hannah Burton; her brothers: Cecil, Okell, and Claris Cartwright; her sisters: Oris Stillings, Delores and Theresa Cartwright and Joy Whyms; her aunts: Nora Cartwright, Gretel Ford, Louise Fox and Emma Wells; her uncle: Allan Cartwright; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
