Mr. Orville “Orvy” Lynden Murphy, 49

a resident of Eaton Road, Yellow Elder Gardens, will be held at Smith Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Kennedy Subdivision, on Saturday, 5th August, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Minister Jacob Hanna. Cremation follows.

He is survived by his daughters: Shaquille Farquharson and Olivia Allen; Two sisters: Ms. Avis Armbrister and Mrs. Michelle Sturrup; Brother: Mr. Patrick Murphy; Sister-in-law: Clarabell Murphy; Brothers-in-law: Michael Thompson Sr. and Simeon Sturrup; Grandsons: Dereck Russell III and Shaquan Farquharson; Nieces: Sherryce (Sarasota, Florida), Nicarra, Shannon, Derecka, Sheneka, Shalisa, Tameka, Katia, Shevonne Murphy-Moss, Lumika and Ghandia Murphy, Tia Coakley, De-Andrea and Christina Murphy, Raymorn, Raynaldo and Simone Sturrup; numerous grandnieces; Nephews: Chavez, Carlis, Michael Jr., Teddy, Dedrick, Mahlik; numerous grand nephews including: Patrick Jr., Cedric, Raymorn and Raynaldo Sturrup and Dax; numerous cousins: Earlin (Gloria), Anthony, Nathan, & Philip Armbrister, Pamela Brice, Dellamae Johnson, Bradley Sears. Friends may pay their last respects at Demeritte’s funeral Home, Market Street, from 12-6:00 p.m. on Friday & on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
