Funeral Service For
Deacon Osbourn Maxwell Weech, J.P.
of The Current, North Eleuthera, will be held on Sunday, August 13th, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at The Methodist Church, The Current. Officiating will be Rev. Kenris L. Carey, President Emerita, Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church (BCMC). Dr. Reginald W. Eldon, Rev. L. Carla R. Culmer, Rev. Henry A. Knowles, Rev. James D. Neilly and Bro. Derek A. Elden along with other Ministers and Deacons of the BCMC.
Deacon Weech passed away on Friday, August 04, 2017 at Baptist Hospital, South Miami, Florida. Interment will follow in The Public Cemetery Current, Eleuthera.
Prior to his death, Deacon Weech served the Current Methodist Church and the North Eleuthera Region of the BCMC as a Lay Preacher for 49 years. He became a Diaconal Candidate with the BCMC in 2008 and was ordained to the Order of Deacons in The Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church on April 26, 2014.
He was awarded the British Empire Medal in 1999 in recognition of his services to the growth and development of the Community.
Deacon Weech was one of the main contributors to the development of Zion Children’s Home (BCMC) in Current Island, Eleuthera and supervised the construction and building of the Home. He will be remembered for his outstanding leadership in the Methodist Church in The Current and his love for, commitment and contributions to the Current Community and the North Eleuthera District.
He is survived by his Wife, Shirley; Son, Terryson (Terry) and Daughter-in-law, Erica; Sister: Christine Neilly; Brothers and Sisters-in-law: Dr. Reginald W. Friends may pay their last respects at The Current Methodist Church on Sunday, August, 13, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
