Funeral Service for Carmetta Louise Saunders age 76 affectionately called "Meta" of Harbour Island Eleuthera, who died November 22nd, 1940 will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday November 4th, 2017 at Lighthouse Church of God Pitt Street Harbour Island Eleuthera. Bishop Samuel Higgs assisted by Bishop Anthony Green and The Praise Team Ensemble will officiate and interment will follow in St. Catherine's Cemetery Harbour Island Eleuthera.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bemel Saunders; three sisters: Norma Pinder, Mary Wells, Pandora Barry, Eloise Sawyer and five brothers: John, Clement, Patrick. Leander and Simeon Higgs.
Left to mourn and cherish her fond memories are:
One daughter: Lillian (Lilly) Hepburn; One son: Ashlyn Barry; One son-in-law: Devon Hepbum; Four sisters: Daisy Dorsett, Theckla Higgs, Felicia Roberts and Eronica Adderley; Two brothers: Thomas and Ephraim Higgs; Five grandchildren: Barbara Brendan, Brooklyn. Briell and Rosie; Six brothers-in-law: Beaufort Dorsett, Philip Roberts. Oliver Adderley, James Saunders, William Saunders and Vincent Johnson; Six sisters-in-law: Wildamae Higgs, Elizabeth Higgs, Ismae Moss, Angela Johnson, Sylvia Saunders and Sandy Saunders; Nieces and Nephews: Frederick, Charles, Louanne, Mayzina, Magolda Gregory, Mark, Cheryl, Carletta, Zonamae, Darla. Jack, Michael, Glenn, Norma Jean, Andrea Kevin, Evette, Margaret. Aretha Vernencha, Ronnie, Denick, David, Claude, Danny, Ramon, Jacob, Matthew. Angela Linda Mary, James, Hansel, Arlington, Anvil, Michael, Eleanor, Judy, Charmaine. Gina Marcian, Shirleymae, Katrina Terrance, Rico, Steven, Valentino, Elaine, Antonio. Sonia Rick, Jimmy, Tarone, Philip Jr., Alfie, Meredith, Phillipa, Gwendolyn, Cassandra Tinq Renate, Anvardo, Simone Adderley, Johnny, Jason, Shan, Johnecia Jonnetta Kristopher, Ryan, Bentley, Sally, Jack, Molly, Tommy, MaryBeth, Cleopatra Jason, Eddison, Vemessa Petra, Madeline, Larry. Bernell and Samantha.
Carmeta is survived by numerous Grand and Great Grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may pay their last respects at THE CHAPEL OF MEMORIES THE NEW COMMONWEALTH FUNERAL HOME INDEPENDENCE DRIVE Friday from 10:00 a.m.2:00 p.m. and at the church in Harbour Island Friday from 6:00 p.m. to service time on Saturday.
