Funeral service for Edward Christopher Edgecombe, 99 yrs., formerly of Vesey Street, will be Salem Union Baptist Church, Taylor Street, on Friday, November, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Officiating: Rev. Heuter B. Rolle. Interment follows in Lakeview Memorial Gardens, John F. Kennedy Drive.
Left to cherish his memories are his adopted daughter, Lucille (Wesley) Flowers and family, his caring nieces and nephews; Elizabeth (Gorman) Bannister, Alexander (Patricia) Burns, Janevar Burns; his step-brothers, George and William Edgecombe; step-sisters Ureina Bethell and Hilda McBride; numerous nieces and nephews, including but not limited to: Doris “Princess” Nesbitt, Douglas and Dexter Burns, Edison and Bernard Nesbitt, Antoinette Nesbitt- Brennen, Lavaughn and Antoine Burns, Devont Roberts, Yohann, Saiyon, La’Dexter, Felecia and Dexter Burns. Other relatives and friends including: Melvin Miller and Family, Gladys Gray, The Salem Union Baptist Church Family including, Pastor Heuter Rolle, Rev. Dr. C.W. Saunders, the visiting team including Sis. Helen Ferguson, Deacon Wellington Forbes, Sis. Dorothy Laing, Evangelist Natalie Taylor; the Vesey Street Families including, Debbie’s Take-Away, the Larrimore Family, The Naomi Christie Senior Citizens Home Family, Nursing Team at Geriatric Hospital and many others too numerous to mention.
Friends may pay their last respects at Demeritte’s Funeral Home, Market Street, from 12-6:00 p.m. on Thursday & on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
