Mrs. Gloria (Hylton) Brown, former International Civil Aviation Organization/ICAO Council Secretariat Officer (Montreal, Canada), and former Registrar, Professional Engineers Registration Board of Jamaica, passed away peacefully at home in Allerdyce Gardens, Kingston 8, Jamaica on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, in the company of her family.
Predeceased by her loving mother, Myrtle Navers and brother Constable Igol Wagstaffe, “G” is survived by her husband, Cyril J. Brown, daughter Dr. Anita Marie Brown-Johnson, son Dr. Lancelot Anthony Brown, son-in-law Dr. Dexter Gregory Johnson, grandchildren Arthur Joseph Brown, Anastasia Dextrene Syrillia Johnson, Rebecca Daphne Brown, Edgar Sabinus Brown and Nicholas André G. Johnson, brothers George, Derek and Fitzroy, sisters Linda, Monica and Cynthia, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Thanksgiving service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at St. Andrew Parish Church, located at 4 to 6 Hagley Park Road, Kingston 10, Jamaica, beginning at 10:30AM. Interment will follow at Dovecot Memorial Park.
In lieu of floral tributes, charitable donations towards the "Gloria Hylton Brown Scholarship Fund”, being created to facilitate access to post-secondary education at University of The West Indies/U.W.I. or University of Technology, Jamaica; McGill University (Montreal); or other accredited tertiary educational institution, with priority for students originating from McNeils Land, Westmoreland (her birthplace) and/or to “Choose Life International” would be appreciated.
