Funeral Service for Garnet Herbert Anderson Deveaux age 80 of #69 Collins Drive, Faith Gardens who died on October 10, 2019 will be held on Saturday October 26, 2019 at 11:00 am at Central Gospel Chapel, Dowdeswell and Christie Streets. Officiating will be Pastor Perry R. Wallace. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery, Cowpen and Spikenard Roads.
He is survived by his wife, Candace Deveaux; his five children and their spouses, Fiona St. Albord and Leslie St. Albord, Robert Deveaux, Arlene King and Damian King, Herbert Deveaux, and Mark Deveaux, April and Kim Deveaux; Grand Children, Leslie St. Albord II, Aaron and Simone Clara St. Albord, Ayeshia, Treynell and Kyana Deveaux of Lincoln Nebraska; brothers, Bert Deveaux and his wife Nola, Godfrey Butler, and Lottie Butler; sister, Arithia Whitfield; sisters-in-law, Victoria Munroe, Elizabeth Munnings, Lerina Williams, Phillippa Swain Pinder, Faith Swain, Valeria Miller and Anita Swain; Brothers-in-law, Wilberforce Jerome Swain, Richard Swain, Rex Miller, Godfrey Swain, Bishop Carnel Swain and Allie Swain; Nephews, Dennis, Dudley, and Dax Deveaux, Hubert Munnings and family , Cameron Munnings and family, Dominique and Verneski Williams, Jerry Stubbs, Demetrie, Rashad, Renaldo Swain, Elijah, Leonardo and Richard Swain Jr.; nieces, Elizabeth Gilbert and family, Necka Walker, Samantha Walker and family, Tanya Smith and family , Tina Armbrister and family , Latoya Rahming and family, Melanie Deveaux and family, Etty Deveaux, Olga Deveaux and family, Kenderlyn Robinson, Jenny Munnings, Jimenita Swain, Anna Swain, Jalissa Ambrister and Dinah Y. Olaniyan of New York; numerous other relatives and friends including: Bahamas Bus and Truck Staff Ivan Ferguson, Sinclaire, Goff, Fred Bowleg, Anthony Deveaux and all the co-workers at Bahamas Bus and Truck too numerous to mention, Fishing buddies, Fred and Dion, neighbors in Faith Gardens, Pastor McKenzie and Family, Alex and Family, the members of Central Gospel Chapel Family, and not in any way least, Dogs Nona and Nona’s daughter who always came to the house for a belly rub and a belly full.
Viewing will be held in the Legacy Suite of Vaughn O. Jones Memorial Center, Mt. Royal Ave. and Talbot Street on Friday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm and on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 am to service time.
