‘Delay Junkanoo Carnival until after election date’
FREE National Movement Deputy Leader Peter Turnquest yesterday called for the government to postpone or delay the third annual Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival until after the general election, warning that the event could only be perceived as “vote buying” if staged during the election cycle.

BAHAMAS Junkanoo Carnival is over, and it was a rip-roaring success. As happened in Grand Bahama, in Nassau thousands and thousands of people thronged the festival site, hungry for the new experience, and for the first time ever The Bahamas entered the 21st century world of festivals, productions and events.
