A SEPIA painting by Jamaal Rolle portrays civil rights leader Reverend Dr Martin Luther King, Jr (left) and Sir Randol Fawkes, labour movement activist who met in Nassau, Bahamas, in November 1958. The painting was presented by Prime Minister Philip “Brave” Davis to Harry Johnson Sr, CEO and president of the Martin Luther King, Jr, National Memorial Project Foundation and Congresswoman Maxine Waters.

THE government commissioned prominent Bahamian artist Jamaal Rolle to paint an important moment that took place in November 1958 between Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr, and Sir Randol Fawkes in Nassau.
