Adderley says govt are committed to prosecuting land owners of shanty communities
ACTING press secretary Keishla Adderley said yesterday the Davis administration is committed to seeing that all involved in the leasing of Crown Land to shanty town dwellers, are prosecuted and punished accordingly.
‘A number’ of undocumented migrants apprehended, Immigration Minister says
IMMIGRATION Minister Alfred Sears said authorities apprehended “a number” of undocumented migrants living in the Kool Acres shanty town before demolition exercises in that community this week.

PRIME Minster Philip “Brave” Davis said there is no concern that the demolition of shanty town buildings could cause a humanitarian crisis.

DEMOLITION of the Kool Acres community will still proceed today despite the blaze that tore through the shanty town on Saturday engulfing more than 70 homes and destroying numerous belongings and personal items.
