CCA files in US for bankruptcy
TWO Nassau resorts, and their Bahamian holding entities, are not caught by yesterday’s “last resort” bid from Baha Mar’s contractor to protect its US arm from Sarkis Izmirlian’s “crippling” $1.6bn damages win.
CCA pledges hotels in Izmirlian appeal
Baha Mar’s contractor yesterday asserted it is “willing to pledge” its two Nassau resorts, which have a combined value of up to $355m, as security for its appeal against Sarkis Izmirlian’s $1.642bn damages award.
CCA: $1.6bn Baha Mar ruling ‘not the last word’
Sarkis Izmirlian and Baha Mar’s contractor traded further blows yesterday with the latter asserting the $1.6bn verdict against it “is by no means the last word” as it formally filed notice of its planned appeal.
‘Absolute sham and shakedown’: Sarkis has $1.6bn Baha Mar win
Baha Mar’s main contractor perpetrated “an absolute sham and shakedown” on Sarkis Izmirlian while providing “phony” completion dates that ultimately cost his family $845m and ousted them from the project.
