ThisIsOurs 8 years, 7 months ago on Landfill manager criticised after latest fire

"They added that the nature of the latest fire has led officials at the landfill to consider that recent blazes are more to do with materials coming in to the site, rather than materials already on the site. According to Mr Beukes and Mr Cox, there are already a series of procedures being carried out at the site to ensure that flammable materials are handled in a manner that does not cause new fires."

First, what is Ken Dorsett doing? Why would he release a statement about security and then drag in the police and talk about how hard it is to secure the site when Renew officials have finally admitted that these fires are likely due to combustion? Is he trying to deceive the public? Does he or any of his companies have shares in Renew Bahamas? Because this is excellent cloaking from someone who should be Chief of Tough Questions right now.

This company was given an opportunity to examine the situation at the dump "before" they were handed that contract on a silver platter. The sole purpose of that exercise was a comprehensive remediation plan that would address security, the size of the dump, materials at the site, materials coming on to the site and spontaneous combustion. All the things they're complaining about now.

Further, Renew is not even paying for the work at the dump! the government is, they are simply harvesting the resource, exporting it and earning a hefty profit. What a sweet deal! It looks like they never had an objective to stop the fires. All they saw was Junkamoney

My belief is Renew has no idea how to stop the fires, it really doesn't appear that they had any strategy, certainly not to be complaining about materials coming into the dump and security at this late stage.

Greenslade needs to continue doing his job by following the cash payments and arresting Brave Davis for, among other things, hiring these two thugs at the taxpayers expense. Nygard, Bacon, Smith, Mitchell and Christie should also be "taken in" for serious rounds of questioning by expert interrogators, provided if need be by the FBI. Nottage should be pressing hard for this to happen!

HUNDREDS of disgruntled residents

Correction - well over a thousand at final count. And 100% peaceful too.

Now we need those numbers out for anti-corruption marches, FOI marches, women's rights marches, domestic abuse marches and every other issue this country faces.

The FNM is full of old people in the Counsel and the leadership.

They can't see that LBT is their only chance, because they are already blind in their old age (been in politics way too long to see).

What prescription is Hubert Minnis' glasses? He must be blind if he still thinks he is the Leader of the Opposition. I support Loretta Butler-Turner as the kind of Leader the FNM needs right now. She is coherent and well spoken and I never have to wonder if English is her first language when I hear her speak. She may have her faults(we all do), but she is the best chance we have right now. She will reignite the TORCH and bring real FNM's HOME. Minnis might have those council members voting for him, but he surely must admit that the torch is now a candle flickering in his hand. Minnis, aren't you tired of reading in every paper and on every social media that the people aren't for you? Please step outside of your yes-men bubble. Minnis or nuttin'? I will take nuttin' for 100 please Alex...

Or convince Branville to join her as her deputy (now that's a challenge) - but it would be an unbeatable ticket.

I challenge Mr. McCartney to offer himself to her (as DPM) privately -at least worth a try.

That election would be dunn over before it even gets called.

The two of them together would be like a Long Island hurricane against corruption and bullshit in this Bahamas, and things would get straightened out real quick.

A coalition would work too - but Bran would have to be satisfied with DPM position - in order to garner the female vote.

I ready to ink my finger.
