Crisis Centre speaks out over lack of rebuke for Miller
The DNA had a candidate for every single House seat. They only got 8% of total vote and not one seat - NOT ONE !!!!!!!!! I am not saying they should have won government majority - or that they should not have - but not to even get ONE seat??????????? This shows how much Bahamians LOVE to be slapped in the face by government every single day. All they need is some KFC and a few beers every 5 years - and then let the slapping begin again.

Crisis Centre says no to $1,000 from Leslie Miller
Well, show this much outrage at the person who ACTUALLY beat someone. Not some politician who apologized and tried to make good on it. Continuing this rhetoric about Leslie Miller is not actually helping anyone.
If you can't see that logic--you lack the common sense.
Didn't they just arrest the guy who murdered that young girl and buried her body. I hardly think as much outrage is actually showed towards the actual offenders against women! Why no protesters outside while HE was being arraigned?
Come on, man. Don't get caught up in this political hype.

Council’s concerns on Carnival to be considered, says minister
I don't think the Council is too worried about the colour. They just know these Islamic outfits will be the opposite of the fine bikini style outfit they complained about yesterday.
It is their goal in life to cover up God's handiwork, and teach that his creations are disgusting and indecent.
At the same time, they have no problem with teenage pregnancy cause that helps to fill seats and get some money in the plate.

UPDATED - Sacked: 61 jobs go at Ocean Club
There seems to be a real sense of entitlement among the unions and workers. Contrary to the real business world, they think that having a job means a forever pay cheque, even in businesses that have a low quotient of human capital -- unskilled labour. This used to be the case years and years ago, but that doesn't reflect the modern business reality of today.
Once upon a time, if you had more than a couple of jobs on your resume, you were deemed flighty and not a good risk for staying at your job. If you got a job with say the telephone company, that would be the last job that you would ever need, and you retired with a pension. With today's economy and today's reality, that is not the case anymore, in the Bahamas or elsewhere.
The only workers that are really safe in today's reality, are the educated and the professionals. Middle class jobs are fleeting, and that is why Donald Trump was elected president in the US. People want a return to job security which doesn't exist any more.
It is no consolation to the terminated employees of course, but it is the new reality.

This is really bad news for The Bahamas. From the story, it appears that the kids were ordered to stop, and they opened fire with guns.
One has to think that critical faculties are quite impaired if anyone thinks that they can win a gunfight with the police.
This means that the socialisation of these kids is such that they are mostly unreachable. I can understand stealing stuff. What I can't understand is the reaction of the kids. When I was a kid, if an authority figure told me to do something, I would have done it. To respond with deadly force -- ie shooting at the popo, defies any sort of logic at all. That means that the kids would kill a person to escape.
What the hell is this place coming to? God help us all.

Shoot at the police, they will shoot back and kill you. That seems pretty fooking obvious and necessary. Police officers are people too. And, in the Bahamas, there is no racial component in play. Those officers have every right to defend themselves. Being soft on gun crime has led us to this place. The sentences for violent criminals should be extreme now. End the drug war, start the anti-gun war.

Strange, but I don't seem to recall Mr. Roberts having issues with the lunatic Rodney "food toting" Moncur's senate appointment or Roberts and Christie being seen crease up with him during the run up to the election. Whats the beef Brad, y'all scared Henfield more than a match for Mitchell? We March was an overwhelming success and served to polarize many undecided voters, but typical of you to vilify everything that is honorable and uplifting for many Bahamians while condoning and glorifying the despicable conduct of the likes of Gibson and Fitzgerald just to name a couple. Oh, I forgot that's know as honor among thieves, my bad. Notice your buddy Nygaard ain't doing to good with his legal actions either, the Florida Court tell him carry his ass back to the Bahamas where I'm certain he'll receive a suitable reception in due course for his vexatious demands on the Courts; many of your "honorable" associates will also in the days to come no doubt have their day in the sun, long may they roast.

New Providence is a tiny island. Put in 10,000 cameras. You will solve this problem once and for all time at a fraction of the Police's annual budget.

TAKING CONTROL: McAlpine shouts ‘coup’ as party dissolves council
McAlpine is hardly a principled man. He is more of a grand-stander than a doer. There is nothing wrong with an occasional disagreement with your party, but he has taken an antagonistic approach which does not serve him nor his constituents well. Why did he accept the nomination knowing what the party's platform was and disagreeing with most of it.

As you continue to participate in the forum, you will quickly learn who they are and will just skip over their commentary.

Sic Mudda how come you do not get off your bungee jumping and get involved in the rescue efforts? Is all you can do is to criticize the Government of the day which is doing its level best to address a situation that cannot be planned for? Are you privy to the discussions taking place between our Government leaders and their CARICOM counterparts?
Why don’t you get the doctors who were on strike to step up to the occasion and recognize that man appoints but God disappoints. Just two weeks ago they were holding the nation to Ransom, now they have to step up, work overtime, expect no extra pay, and stop the talk of more money. Our Government needs to start reducing the pay across the board of every public sector employee by 20% , while introducing a Dorian Reconstruction and Redevelopment Income Tax of 20%.
Furthermore, leave the Haitian born citizens and residents alone. Are you, Sic Mudda, native born? How about your great grandparents? I doubt it. We should not be looking for scapegoats at this time. Are we not our brothers keepers? Seems as if we don’t stop this Haitian bashing we will be encouraging violence against them. Just like what is happening in South Africa right now with Black South Africans killing Nigerians, Somalis, Zimbabweans and other brothers and sisters from Africa.
Finally, let us all extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Honorable Prime Minister on the passing of his brother. The Almighty does not put on your shoulder more than you can handle. You think Brave could handle this crisis? How about Perry?
I hope you can refrain from this negativity and take the road for once.

HERE WE GO AGAIN: Minimum two-week lockdown to try and halt new COVID surge
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Lots of idiotic noises in the market place and NOT ONE sensible suggestion of what Minnis should be doing differently than other countries to irradicate COVID!
No apologies for PM Minnis missteps, however, CORONAVIRUS-19 is a new virus that NOBODY has any experience fighting. Minnis and crew are only human and bound to make mistakes while trying to navigate an unknown course dealing with this pandemic.
Look at the US for example. Regardless of The USA being the richest, and most powerful superpower on the planet, they have proven to be absolute, total, failures dealing with CORONAVIRUS-19! The rest of the world looks on with pity at the U.S. government's pathetic "non-response" to COVID-19.
The majority of what PM Minnis has done makes him look like a genius compared to what President Trump has done!
Yes, PM Minnis, you made a terrible decision by succumbing to pressure to open the borders. Now please ignore all these naysayers who altogether combined couldn't come up with a single positive thought for all the tea in China, pick yourself up, dust off your team, and move the country forward as best you can.
Carry on PM Minnis. We are beaten as is every other country in the world, but not defeated!
