The illegal Mexicans, Nigerians(Africans), Jamaicans, Guyanese, Filipinos, Russians, Eastern Europeans, Peruvians, Chinese, Indians, Brazilians, Cubans, Dominicans, etc. etc. must also be deported ........... We should not tolerate them because they may not be black and speak Creole ..............They are as serious a threat to our country as the ubiquitous Haitians ........ the mere fact that they create enclaves that restrict or prevent Bahamians from socializing freely is a serious socialization issue ........... They want to be in our country ON THEIR OWN TERMS.

What may have started out as people surrounding themselves with others who speak the same language and shared culture spiraled into generations insulating themselves from Bahamian society. Their kids are raised this way, and are Haitian in every regard except when it's beneficial. They make the choice not to integrate and this what keeps them Haitian in the Bahamas (even with legal status).

It should be added that because we have not dealt with those who are entitled to be in The Bahamas we have segregated the Haitians into enclaves by telling them that, though they might feel Bahamian, we are saying that they are foreign.
We are very much to blame for the enclaves.

It should not matter the colour of your skin and or what country you are from, if you are breaking the laws of the Bahamas by being here illegally, you need to be rounded up at the least expense to the country and DEPORTED, DEPORTED IMMEDIATELY, and given notice to NOT return again. PERIOD. They should not expect or receive any kind of " Judicial due process " that should only be reserved for Citizens and law abiding Foreigners here legally. When you enter the country illegally, you give up any rights to that country's Judicial process of law because you have no legal rights to be here. PERIOD. The government need to govern and send the message LOUD AND CLEAR to citizens of other country especially, countries in the Caribbean, that the Bahamas is a country of Law and order and don't come here illegally and expect a " CAKE RIDE".

Illegals need to be deported. Period. There is no more to be said about that part of it.

I, like the author, like Asian food. I think it is a positive for this country to have restaurants from the Philippines, Thailand, China, etc.
There has to be a path to legalising the position of these people who certainly contribute to the cultural diversity and economic offer of Nassau. This can be done through quotas. Do we want 5 restaurants? OK, 20 work permits should be enough. That will be the quota. No one can tell me that 20 Asian chefs is going to swamp us.
But no, our Immigration Laws are so antiquated and the Immigration Department is so inefficient that they can't do anything in a reasonable amount of time. If they could pull their finger out, we probably would not have half the number of illegals here, for they would have a legal status.
