I agree...excuses because they aren't making projected revenues. Their get out of jail free card

I hope Perry Christie is reading this article VERY carefully and does not allow this fly by night company to screw up one of the most beautiful islands in the Bahamas.

I think this may be a good thing as Bimini itself is in peril due to the resort itself. Our government does not get it as they have no idea as to what it is that makes the Bahamas so special. Can Perry swim?

Actually RAV slowed way down while the FNM were in power. They could not do anything they wanted to like they do under PGC's government. The day the FNM lost Capo was outside his house smoking a huge fat cigar telling everybody today was a good day for the Bahamas. Amazing how all the crooks get so damned happy when the PLP win... hmmmm....

I hear the PLP gave Capo 500 SD plates? WTH?

Resort World says: The Bimini resort owner/developer alleged, though, that the CBP had performed a ‘u-turn’, giving the evening sailings an initial go ahead, only to change its mind and impose the ban after they had started.

CBP says: Countering Resorts World’s assertions that CBP initially gave the ‘OK’ to its plans, Ms Sabatino alleged that the agency had responded to a different question - namely whether CBP checks were still needed even if no passengers embarked/disembarked the vessel in Bimini.

Wonder who's lying? No real reason for CBP to lie, they have nothing to gain. hmmmm

Source : http://psychcentral.com/encyclopedia/20…">Delusions of Grandeur

A delusion of grandeur is the fixed, false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius, fame, omnipotence, or wealth. It is most often a symptom of schizophrenia, but can also be a symptom found in psychotic or bipolar disorders, as well as dementia (such as Alzheimer’s).

The diagnosis is listed above, but, i forget which one it is.

People with a delusion of grandeur often have the conviction of having some great but unrecognized talent or insight. They may also believe they have made some important discovery that others don’t understand or appreciate.

The discovery either the crime plan or the 10,000 jobs, which were ready from day 1

Grandiose delusions may have religious content, such as the person believes he or she has received a special message from God or another deity.

There, God gave the country to the PLOP.

Sometimes, in popular language, this disorder may be known as “megalomania,” but is more accurately referred to as narcissistic personality disorder if it is a core component of a person’s personality and identity. In such disorders, the person has a greatly out-of-proportion sense of their own worth and value in the world. People with this issue can also sometimes have a taste for the finer, more extravagant things in life.

Me thinks more than one people in the govt have them delusions

How many more Red Flags can one company send up before the Bahamian government realizes that these Genting people are clueless? Resorts World Bimini is one misstep after another.

This seems so obviously unfair to this hard working, job creating business man. Stuart Cove is a Nassau Icon and to think that these non-bahamian companies are coming into the same market he relys on, with an unfair pricing advantage, and putting his business at risk is wrong. Time for some politicians to do something about this before it is too late. I appreciate Stuart's descriptive language regarding the lack of fortitude most politicians have these days. For the male MP's.... where are your balls?

This is absolutely true. I have been on one of these live-aboard dive boats operating out of the Harbour Club with a foreign crew. They have their own moorings (or they are using nat'l trust moorings). I was baffled how an American outfit was blatantly working in Bahamian waters. If they were fishermen they would be arrested. They are profiting from our natural resources and virtually none of the revenue stays in the country.

It hurts me to say this -- but based on what is reported in this article, it seems as if our very own democracy is being eroded to the core. Is there no longer a separation of powers? Is the entire country now controlled by the political elite, whom are easily bought off by foreign interests? Is the independence of our own judiciary at jeopardy now?

4.3 billion estimate and that was 2012 , they've been looking since then long enough to know whether it's more. With that little compared to http://allafrica.com/view/photoessay/po… we don't have enough to sell to anyone else. America is drilling in North Dakota and stopped buying so much from elsewhere. More places are drilling for themselves so less customers, especially for the " oil virgins". http://www.thehabarinetwork.com/the-bah…

An estimate of what we'd get http://www.tribune242.com/news/2013/mar…

US incidents http://www.incidentnews.noaa.gov/raw/in… "There are thousands of incidents each year in which oil or chemicals are released into the environment as a result of accidents or natural disasters." http://oceanservice.noaa.gov/news/featu… They're already preparing for us.

And you wonder why so many people think Bahamians are stupid? So-called "government" that doesn't consult with constituents, doesn't even let them know what's going on...simply pockets $$ and SELLS OUT the country. The ignorance shown by successive Bahamian governments is unfathomable! Bimini's beautiful Radio Beach was destroyed almost 10 years ago by the government allowing channel dredge materials to be unceremoniously dumped directly on the beach. Fifteen feet high, huge boulders, packed tight enough that cars now drive on the area. They ruined one of the best beaches in the Bahamas because nobody had enough sense to figure out the destruction they were putting into place. All I can say is sometimes people get what they deserve. VOTE IN STUPID AND CORRUPT POLITICIANS AND GET INEPT AND EVEN CATASTROPHIC RESULTS. WHEN WILL ALL OF US DUMB A$$ BAHAMIANS LEARN?

Stupid, stupid, stupid people. Government of the Bahamas is filled with people who can't comprehend an EIA that basically states this "cruise terminal" will destroy the very essence of Bimini. The people in power are absolutely clueless! We, as Bahamians, are rightfully regarded as ignorant. WE elect these people. WE put up with this blatant disregard for constituents. WE allow them to line their pockets while our very livelihood is destroyed. WE are the ones to blame. Now go ahead and elect these same clowns next time! Stupid, stupid people!

IKORKY.....Obviously you are either affiliated with the current political party, or employed by Genting. No one with any proper education on mitigating environmental damage during maritime construction would make the statements you just made otherwise. Either way you are pretty ill informed of the damage this project will create, and the fact that no one in Bimini will see any profits from this sham, as i have already seen on my last visit to Bimini. This project should be stopped immediately, but unfortunately our government cannot see the forest through the trees.
